New Downriver Non-profit starts 2010 with Jan. 1 Yoga-thon
Yoga for Peace in Southgate offers stress relief for the New Year
Southgate, MI— December 18, 2000 —What once was a Southgate business (Rising Sun Yoga) is now a volunteer organization that hopes to bring some well-needed stress relief to more people in the Downriver community. New Year’s Day will be an all-day Yoga-thon at the studio at 13550 Dix-Toledo Road in Southgate. People are encouraged to drop in to learn yoga and the benefits of the breathing and body exercises that are good for people of all ages.
“Yoga for Peace is now a donation-based facility offering yoga to the health conscious and those seeking wellness, the secure and the needy, the rich and the poor, granting all the opportunity to learn yoga,” said Jim Pero, Yoga for Peace Board President. “In this difficult economy, if you are unable to support our nonprofit organization financially, you can still help by volunteering at the studio.”
“Or you may want to donate an item for our Yoga for Peace silent auction in 2010,” Pero adds. “Perhaps you received a Christmas president or gift card over the holidays that you know you won’t use that we might be able to auction off to someone else who would find it more to their liking.” For hours and additional information, visit www.y4peace.org.
