"From Breakdown to Breakthrough" – is the title of the workshop that Gilles and Liliane Desjardins will provide at Spiritual Life Center in Troy Friday evening, September 17,

all day Saturday, September 18 and

Sunday morning, September 19.

This could well be the description of their lives. Liliane was born in Croatia in the midst of ethnic hatred and war. When she was four, her father was sent to Auschwitz concentration camp. Three days later, she heard the Bishop of the Church blessing the German troops in front of the cathedral. When the communists took over after the war, she was told there was no God. It’s hard to imagine a more confusing, conflict-filled childhood.

And yet, Liliane met up with Gilles, a man with his own difficult past – and together they developed a life-enhancing program that assists people to rise above their past to experience happiness and fulfillment. The Desjardins have helped countless numbers of persons to deal with lethargy or what appears to be hopelessness so they might achieve lives that are creative, loving and alive.

At a Desjardins workshop, don’t be surprised if you’re asked:

"When was the last time you had passion in your life?"

"Are you repeating the same patterns without knowing why?"

"Does life seem like a merry-go-round of routines and responsibilities?"

"When was the happiest day of your life? Is it now?"

Two workshop participants said: "Our (recent) experience has put the "life" back into our lives and into our marriage. There had always been something holding us back, something invisible to us but something that kept us from being able to enjoy ourselves and each other to the fullest. Identifying those things that were blocking our communication, and getting rid of those things: then, choosing positive spiritual growth and love over the negative of the past, has brought us confidence and peace of mind."

While couples find their relationships enhanced, many participants are single persons who would like to experience greater freedom, direction, and purpose. One such person says: "This experience was truly life-changing and the best investment I have ever made in myself."
